ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome! My name is Dr. Kimberly R. Santos; I am the founder and CEO of I.S.M. Liaison, LLC. I.S.M. Liaison is an educational consulting company that specializes in providing tailored professional development for teachers, administrators, and support staff in schools, across districts, and within educational organizations.

I was born and raised in Montclair, NJ and a proud graduate of the Montclair Public School system. I received a Bachelor of Arts from Spelman College (the #1 HBCU!,) a Masters of Arts from Seton Hall University, and a Doctorate of Education from Kean University. I have two amazing adult children - Michael and Devinne. Reading, fashion, interior design, good food, music, dancing, and spending time with my family and friends are my hobbies and interests. I continue to live in Montclair, NJ however I enjoy working with educators across the nation to build knowledge of classroom practices that are equitable and effective.

The first five years of my educational career were spent as a teacher. My first year of teaching was at Warren Street School in Newark, NJ as a fourth grade math teacher. From there I would go to Mt. Hebron Middle School (now Buzz Aldrin) in Montclair, NJ where I would teach (English) Language Arts for four years to sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students.  The next year, I would open a new school, Main Street School (now Rosa Parks School,) for the Orange Public School system in Orange, NJ where I served as the Vice Principal for two years. The next twelve years I spent as a Vice Principal with the Newark Board of Education – the last four of those years at a National Blue Ribbon elementary school.  For two years after, I worked in higher education as the Director of the Newark Montclair Urban Teacher Residency at Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ.  This was a USDOE grant-funded, graduate-level teacher preparation program with a social justice focus to guide students specifically for teaching in the underserved communities of Newark, NJ.

I returned to the Newark Board of Education upon completion of the grant, where I served as the Supervisor of the Office of Staff Development for two years. During the 2021-22 school year I returned to the vice principalship in the Newark Board of Education; and I also became an adjunct professor at Montclair State University teaching a graduate-level education course - ECEL 501, Perspectives on Early Childhood and Elementary Education in a Diverse Society. Currently, outside of leading amazing professional development sessions through my company, I am a Lead Professional Learning Specialist for Amplify, Inc. I train and coach district-level administration, school-level administrators, teachers, interventionists, and coaches in curriculum implementation, observation, and evaluation.

I believe my knowledge and experience in education and educational leadership, along with my strong communication skills makes me an ideal facilitator of best practices and equitable strategies for classroom instruction. I look forward to working with you to provide professional development that supports the education and success of all students.  Thank you in advance for your consideration.
